Glucose management is crucial for longevity

When you consume a sugary snack, your body experiences a rapid spike in blood sugar levels. In response, your pancreas releases a large amount of insulin to help bring down the elevated blood sugar levels. However, this sudden surge in insulin can lead to a sharp drop in blood sugar levels, causing cravings for more sugary foods and leading to a vicious cycle of sugar highs and crashes.

High-glycemic diet: the culprit behind aging

A diet high in sugary snacks and refined carbs may speed up aging, raise prediabetes risk (ADA), and lead to health issues like obesity, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol. Both prediabetes and type 2 diabetes are linked to an average 8-year reduction in lifespan (BMJ Journals).

Low-Glycemic Diet is Equal to Longevity

Studies have found that a low GI diet resulted in a 27% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared to a high GI diet, a 22% increase in insulin sensitivity, and a 14% lower risk of heart disease. Research has also shown that consuming low GI meals can improve physical endurance and reduce fatigue. High-fiber low GI foods have been linked to a reduced risk of colorectal cancer, as well as weight loss and reductions in waist circumference.
