Dan Stangler is the Business Unit Director at Annie’s who leads the collective marketing strategy for the mission-driven maker of natural and organic foods. Dan joined Annie’s in January 2015, bringing with him over a decade of marketing leadership experience from General Mills, a global food leader and the nation’s fourth largest maker of natural and organic foods. As Annie’s marketing leader, Dan works with the talented Annie’s team to advance Annie’s mission and drive the brand strategy across the product portfolio, new products, marketing communications, consumer insights, packaging designs and consumer relations. In his role, Dan listens and leads with passion and empathy and stresses authenticity and honesty in all the marketing team does for Annie’s.
Dan joined General Mills in 2005, where he has led marketing efforts across snacks, meals and cereal brands, and led shopper marketing efforts for key customers and growth channels. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from St. John’s University in Minnesota, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Dan and his wife Molly are both born-and-raised Minnesotans who now reside in Northern California with their four school-aged children, Anna, Jane, and twin boys Henry and Eddie. The kids are all life-long consumers of Annie’s and are proud and quick to share with anyone they meet that their dad works at Annie’s. Their family loves food – a love shared by their broader family – and they’ve been lucky to share in food family traditions over the years, including canning and making maple syrup. His honest roots and passion for people and nature drive his personal values and professional leadership approach today.
