Tracy Favre is a former organic inspector, with more than 25 years of experience in natural resource management, first as an environmental engineer followed by various positions in sustainable agriculture. She served on the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) for the United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program (USDA NOP) from 2012-2016, and as chair of that board in 2016. The NOSB advises the Secretary of Agriculture on the USDA’s National Organic Program. She and her husband own and manage a small, diversified family farm.
Tracy earned her Master of Science in sustainable development (emphasis in agriculture) from the University of London/Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Texas A&M University. She has also received training as a hazards and critical control point manager through NSF International and training in the National Organic Program’s processing standards, and livestock and organic inspection through the International Organic Inspector’s Association. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
